Morrison Shines in Waratahs Match and then Wins First Cap

Graeme Morrison's arrival on the field as a substitute near the end of the Scotland - Australia test match on Sunday 13 June marked his first cap for his country. Graeme became the first Dollar FP to be capped for Scotland at rugby since Cameron Glasgow a decade ago.

His selection for the test team arose from his outstanding display four days previously against the Waratahs.

"Performance of Morrison the only positive as Scotland coach hits out after loss to Waratahs" was the headline in The Scotsman on Wednesday 9 June after Scotland's 15-33 loss in Sydney to coach Matt Williams' old team, the NSW Waratahs.

Centre Graeme Morrison, who left Dollar in 2001 and whose club side is now Glasgow, came in for special praise from his coach in a match which he clearly found disappointing: "As difficult as it is, this is why you give these guys the Test exposure, and in amongst all that Graeme was absolutely outstanding. I know Scott Stainforth got the man of the match in his last game in a light blue jersey, but I thought Graeme was the best player on the field despite being on the losing side - he broke the line every single time he attacked".

High praise came too from his opposite number Nathan Grey, capped 35 times for the Wallabies. "I think he is very impressive," said the Waratahs skipper. "He got over the gain-line pretty much every time he touched the ball. He is a big lad, a very good player and will take a lot of containing".
