Sports Weekend 2004

For the second time in three years, the senior athletics championships had to be cancelled because of the weather. The day started bright and fine, but by 11am the rain had set in. The atmosphere in the marquee was, as usual, very warm, and Former Pupils, parents and present pupils were able to meet each other. Food and hot drinks were available throughout the day, and many FPs and parents took the chance to visit the wonderful art exhibitions, and have a tour of the school.

Later in the day, the Former Pupil Sherry Party took place in the Library. It was, as always, very busy. Then it was back down to the marquee where La Sonera Calaveras played Salsa music, and a dinner of barbecued meats and salads was served. There were even Salsa dancers teaching everyone how to do the dance properly.

On Sunday the sun shone, and the Pipe band put on a magnificent display for an extremely large audience, and drinks and snacks were served in the marquee afterwards.
